Our History

Two experts in their fields, Helen Bishop and Vanessa Imondi joined forces in 2016 to create MediComm Partners, an agency specialising in communications for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.

Since then, the business has built a dedicated team of healthcare, communication and event management experts, managing meetings across every continent and delivering scientific communications to support a host of global companies in their journey of bringing their drugs to market.

Helen Bishop, Founder and Managing Director

With over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry working across all phases of drug development, I am ideally placed to understand what you need to achieve from your communications to your healthcare audience. I manage the technical side of our service delivery, bringing the rigour of my scientific background to your communications and meetings.

I am passionate about drug development, and I enjoy the variety of partnering with pharma companies both large and small. My personable and flexible approach draws the best out of experts and advisors as we work towards achieving your goals.

My solid expertise in global product development, from advisory boards to analysis, regulations to report writing, combined with my experience in communications and training, mean you and your project are in safe hands.

Background and other interests

I have a thirst for knowledge and Continuous Professional Development and have gained a BSc (1st class Hons) in Biology/Life Sciences, and an MSc (Distinction) in Pharmaceutical Medicine during my career.

I love travel and socialising and relish the opportunity to meet new people both personally and professionally. I volunteer for several charities, including as a STEM ambassador in schools.

Vanessa Imondi, Founder and Global Event Specialist

I manage the event management side of the business and have had over twenty years of experience working alongside leading blue-chip companies delivering global events and communication at the highest level.

Client work

I enjoy the challenge of managing complex event logistics, developing creative communications to enhance the brand experience and use my strong event planning acumen to produce high-impact meetings.

I’m in the fortunate position of really enjoying the job I do, from the initial concept through to completion. I have a positive and personal approach, and my high attention to detail ensures your events and communications are meticulously delivered.

Background and other interests

I am passionate about travel and have spent much of my personal and professional life organising global events and globetrotting! I set high standards for myself and the events I manage and have enjoyed a fast-paced career where I can put this into practice.

Dr Kara McNair

Senior Medical Writer

Kara is a medical writer with a PhD in neuroscience who has previously worked for Pfizer and Novartis. She has published numerous research papers in several therapeutic areas and her writing and editing experience include scientific papers, grants, systematic reviews, blogs, abstracts, and posters. She has a strong interest in using her writing skills to clearly communicate complex scientific, medical, and health information to a wide and varied audience.

Rachelle Steele

Senior Medical Writer

Rachelle is a trained pharmacist and medical writer with experience working across many therapeutic areas. Previous positions include Medical Writer at WriteSource Medical, Sydney, Australia and Clinical Development Scientist at Roche Products Ltd, UK where she was involved with a successful large registrational oncology trial. Her writing experience includes clinical study reports, journal manuscripts, abstracts, slides and poster presentations, clinical trial documentation and medical education materials. Rachelle is a member of the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA).

Dr Sarah Mason

Medical Writer

Sarah is a medical writer with a PhD in Biochemistry and a wealth of experience in both industrial and academic settings. Previous positions include Study Director at GlaxoSmithKline and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sussex. She has published several publications in high-impact journals. Her writing and editing experience includes regulatory reports, scientific papers, academic grants, blogs, posters and scientific presentations.

Kate Munro

Medical Communication Specialist and Facilitator

Kate has a rare combination of drug development, commercial strategy and communication skills, gained from an extensive career at Roche in the UK and Switzerland. As a leader, she has successfully led early oncology drug development projects, due diligence activities and helped guide organisational transformation. Kate’s broad experience gives her scientific fluency and an ability to distil complex problems into digestible parts, she is skilled at scientific writing, presentations and is an expert facilitator.

Dr George Xinarianos

Medical Communications Specialist

George is a medical and scientific writer with a PhD in oncology, with over 25 years of experience working in medical research and communications. He has delivered a wide range of writing and editing projects for the private and academic sectors and his writing experience includes publications, medical education activities, promotional materials, and clinical documents. He is an excellent team player and facilitator with the ability to work on and manage multiple projects simultaneously producing high-quality deadline-oriented work for every project.

Solange Wyatt

Clinical Scientist

Solange brings with her over 20 years of experience working across all phases of drug development in both commercial and non-commercial environments. With a strong scientific background and a great eye for detail, she has a thorough knowledge and understanding of product development, with project management and writing experience across therapeutic areas.

Julia Eastgate

Clinical Scientist

Julia draws upon her strong clinical and medical affairs experience, having held country-level, European and Global positions within Roche and GSK plc, where she has worked across numerous therapy areas covering all phases of clinical drug development, from phase 1 to launch, and beyond.
